Review exterior access
Locate damaged vents, doors, gaps and digging before deciding whether interior entry is needed.
Practical answer from Brave Guys
A skunk in a crawlspace requires more than masking the smell. Brave Guys identifies the entry point, evaluates whether the animal or a carcass is present, explains the legal removal options and closes the vulnerable opening only after the space is clear.
How to read the situation
Crawlspaces can carry odor through plumbing, duct and floor penetrations, which makes the indoor smell seem broader than the source. Safe inspection access and an exterior perimeter review are usually more useful than entering blindly from inside the house.
Recommended sequence
Locate damaged vents, doors, gaps and digging before deciding whether interior entry is needed.
Separate live-animal activity, residual spray odor and a possible carcass.
Use the appropriate removal or recovery process and document what was found.
Seal and reinforce the confirmed access point once clearance is established.
Avoid making it worse
Do not enter a confined crawlspace after a recent spray event without evaluating ventilation and access. Keep people and pets away from the opening and avoid forcing the animal deeper into the structure.
California handling rules
California guidance says captured skunks may not generally be transported and released elsewhere without written permission from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Brave Guys explains the lawful on-site options and does not advertise a misleading routine relocation service.

Local availability
Choose your location for local property notes, nearby coverage and a page-specific contact path.
Crawlspace air can move through plumbing, duct and floor penetrations. The indoor concentration does not always show exactly where the animal or spray source is located.
When the location is safely accessible, dead-animal recovery may be possible. Access, contamination and any opening or repair work are evaluated before the scope is approved.
The exterior inspection looks for vulnerable vents, doors, utility gaps and excavation. The recommended repair scope is based on the openings that are accessible and relevant to the activity.
No responsible company should promise instant elimination. Source removal and targeted treatment help, but odor strength and duration depend on spray location, absorbed materials and ventilation.
