Signs worth investigating

The time, weight and level of the activity can narrow the possibilities.

Wildlife in an Eagle Rock home can sound very different depending on whether it is on the roof, in an attic, inside a wall or below a raised floor. Heavy, deliberate steps and thumps may suggest a larger animal, while quick scratching or repeated light movement can point toward rats or mice. Noise alone is not identification. Arman compares the sound with accessible droppings, tracks, rub marks, disturbed vents, entry gaps and the outside route around the structure.

Odor may come from a skunk using a sheltered outdoor area, waste from an animal occupying an attic or crawl space, or a dead source that needs a paid inspection. Damage can include a moved foundation screen, an opening at an eave, gnawing near a utility penetration, soil disturbed along a wall or a gap beneath a deck. The important detail is where the evidence connects to the building, not simply that an animal crossed the yard.

Outdoor sightings need context. Raccoons and opossums may travel through a property without living inside it; skunks can shelter beneath a structure; ground squirrels use daytime burrow systems; and snakes may use cover near walls, rock, vegetation or stored material. Send the place, time and behavior you observed. A short video often provides more useful information than a distant species guess.

Eagle Rock property conditions

Hillside streets and canyon edges can connect the yard to several levels of a house.

Eagle Rock combines sloped streets, canyon-adjacent pockets and flatter blocks near Eagle Rock Boulevard and Colorado Boulevard. On a hillside parcel, the uphill side may place an animal close to a roof, deck or upper crawl-space opening even when that feature looks high from the street. The downhill elevation can expose lower foundations and additions. Arman inspects the level connected to evidence rather than treating the front elevation as the whole property.

Older homes may have raised foundations, vented attics, porch voids and additions built at different times. A crawl-space screen, roof vent, chimney edge, garage connection or utility line can each create a separate route. Mature trees and dense landscaping can provide outside travel cover, while fences and retaining walls can guide animals along a repeat path. These are inspection priorities, not automatic proof that an opening is active.

Around the busier Eagle Rock Boulevard and Colorado Boulevard corridors, smaller lots, garages and closely spaced structures can make it hard to know whether a sound comes from the main home, an addition or a neighboring roof. In quieter canyon and hillside areas, under-deck spaces and changes in grade may be more important. Text the specific part of the property involved so the visit can be planned around the right access point.

Brave Guys also serves Mount Washington and Highland Park from the same nearby base. Those areas include their own hillside, raised-foundation and closely built residential conditions, so they are service areas rather than extra offices. Send the address to confirm coverage and any travel charge before dispatch.

How we work

Identify the animal first, then match removal, repairs and cleanup to the evidence.

The method differs by species and location. Brave Guys explains the inspection result and price before trapping, a one-way device, exclusion or cleanup is approved.

01

Inspect the relevant area

Most raccoon, skunk, opossum, rodent, ground-squirrel and similar wildlife inspections are free. Snake and dead-animal source inspections are $175. Arman checks accessible evidence and identifies any area that cannot be safely reached.

02

Choose the removal method

Depending on the confirmed species and structure, the plan may use trapping or a one-way door. Raccoon trapping and one-way-door prices are stated on this page. The method is explained before you choose, and no capture is guaranteed.

03

Clear before closing

Entry points are not sealed while a space is occupied. Arman checks for dependent young and active use, then quotes the specific openings that can be repaired after the removal stage is complete.

04

Finish the approved scope

Cleanup and exclusion are separate when they are needed. Ask which entry points repaired by Brave Guys qualify for the one-year exclusion-repair warranty. The warranty covers only the specific qualifying work described in its written terms.

Before the visit

Show where the activity crosses levels without climbing or entering a confined space.

Text your Eagle Rock address and say whether the problem is above a ceiling, beneath the floor, inside a wall, under a deck or outside. On a sloped property, note whether the suspected opening faces uphill or downhill and which gate reaches it. If the animal travels along a retaining wall, fence, branch or roof edge, a video taken from a safe position can help Arman understand the route.

Do not climb onto a roof, open a damaged vent, place your hand into a burrow or crawl under the home to identify the animal. Keep children and pets away from the active area. For a snake, maintain distance and keep it in view only if that can be done safely. For a confined raccoon, skunk or opossum, avoid blocking the route or trying to handle it.

Arrange ordinary access to attic hatches, crawl-space doors, side gates and detached garages. Tell Arman about locked areas, tenants, narrow hillside steps, low clearances or stored items that block an opening. The inspection applies to relevant accessible areas; finished walls, unsafe roof sections and sealed construction are described as limits rather than silently included.

Confirmed pricing

Inspection rules and confirmed animal prices are stated before dispatch.

Inspection is free for raccoons, skunks, opossums, rodents, ground squirrels, gophers and similar wildlife. The only $175 inspections are snakes and dead animals. A farther address may have a travel charge, but it must be confirmed before dispatch. Any exclusion, cleanup or repair scope is quoted separately and approved before it begins.

For raccoons, trap setup is $200 and covers one trap for up to two weeks, plus $150 for each animal caught. One animal totals $350 and two total $500. Capture is not guaranteed. A one-way door is $450 flat regardless of the number of animals inside when the structure and situation make that approach suitable.

Dead-animal removal begins with the $175 source-finding inspection. Accessible body removal is approximately $100–$300 depending on access, location and condition, in addition to the inspection. Local disinfection of the immediate spot is included free after removal. These are the confirmed dollar amounts; work outside them is quoted for the actual property rather than advertised as a fixed price.

Brave Guys Inc. has one office at 633 N Central Ave, Glendale, CA 91203 and serves Eagle Rock from that nearby location. The company holds California Structural Pest Control Board registration PR 10209, Branch 2. Arman Nazarian, the owner and field technician, holds SPCB Operator license OPR 15111.

Who handles the call?

Wildlife inside a private structure is not the same as an animal on a public street.

City or county animal control generally handles dead or injured animals on public streets and other public duties. An animal in a private attic, crawl space, wall, chimney, deck void, garage or yard requires property access and a structural plan from a private licensed company. Brave Guys provides that service for Eagle Rock homes and businesses.

For an animal on public property, use the appropriate public agency. For a private-property problem, text the address, exact location and what you observed. Brave Guys is not an animal-control agency, does not list agency phone numbers here and does not make promises about how a public department will respond.

Local questions

Answers before you schedule.

These answers describe the scope on this page. Arman confirms access, method and price for the actual property before work begins.

How much does wildlife removal cost in Eagle Rock?

Most raccoon, skunk, opossum, rodent, ground-squirrel and similar wildlife inspections are free. Snake and dead-animal inspections are $175. Raccoon trapping is $200 setup plus $150 per animal caught, or $450 for a suitable one-way door. Repairs, cleanup and extra equipment are quoted separately.

How quickly can Brave Guys reach an Eagle Rock hillside home?

Text the exact address, the uphill or downhill access and the problem to (818) 627-8118. Arman confirms the available field window before dispatch. Contact hours are daily from 8 AM to midnight, but immediate or same-day arrival is not guaranteed.

Can I safely trap an animal under my deck myself?

Do not reach into the void, block the animal's route or handle a confined animal. A deck may shelter a skunk, opossum, raccoon or another species, and young may be present. Keep people and pets away and let Arman inspect the accessible evidence before equipment or closure is considered.

Do you check for raccoon or opossum babies?

Yes. Dependent young are considered whenever an adult may be using an attic, crawl space, chimney area or other sheltered den. That check affects the removal sequence, and Brave Guys does not close a confirmed occupied opening.

What if I only smell the animal?

Describe whether the odor is skunk-like, associated with waste or similar to a dead source, and say where it is strongest. A dead-animal source-finding inspection is $175. Other wildlife inspections are usually free, and the confirmed evidence determines the next scope.

Do you seal roof, eave and crawl-space openings?

Yes, accessible entry points can be quoted after the occupied space is clear. The repair depends on the structure and opening. Ask which qualifying points receive the one-year exclusion-repair warranty and read the warranty page for limits.

Do you serve Mount Washington and Highland Park too?

Yes. Brave Guys serves Eagle Rock, Mount Washington and Highland Park from one nearby base. Send the exact address to confirm coverage, property access and any travel charge before dispatch.

What hours can I call about a snake or attic noise?

Call or text (818) 627-8118 daily from 8 AM to midnight, Los Angeles time. An active snake call should include the address and safe current location. Contact hours do not promise an immediate after-hours field visit.

Which licenses cover your wildlife work?

Brave Guys Inc. lists SPCB company registration PR 10209, Branch 2. Arman Nazarian holds SPCB Operator OPR 15111 and CDFW trapping license TP-11016.

Does the one-year warranty cover the whole house?

No. It applies only to specific qualifying entry points repaired by Brave Guys. New openings, unrepaired areas and unrelated damage are outside that promise. See the warranty page for the written terms.
