Foothill wildlife clues

A sighting near the yard edge and a sound inside the house require separate confirmation.

Tujunga properties can show wildlife activity at ground level, along slopes and inside structures. A skunk may leave odor near a foundation or sheltered area, a raccoon may make heavy nighttime movement on a roof or in an attic, and rats can create lighter scurrying in walls or ceilings. Ground squirrels are seen above ground during the day around burrow systems, while a snake call begins with the safe current location and whether the animal remains visible.

Damage and evidence help connect a sighting to the building. A loose crawl-space screen, disturbed soil beside a wall, an opening at an eave, droppings, gnaw marks or a repeated track through vegetation may point toward an active route. A larger lot can contain several unrelated animal paths, so Arman checks the accessible area tied to the reported problem rather than claiming every outdoor sign belongs to the same animal.

Odor needs the same discipline. Skunk scent may drift from outside, animal waste may collect in a den area, or a dead source may be concealed in a wall, attic or crawl space. Dead-animal source finding is a $175 inspection; a snake inspection is also $175. Other listed wildlife inspections are free, and the approved work depends on what is actually confirmed.

Tujunga and Sunland conditions

Foothill lots next to open terrain can have several wildlife approaches at once.

Tujunga sits in the foothills near the Angeles National Forest, where sloped ground, washes, rock features and larger residential lots can place natural cover close to homes. That setting can produce regular outdoor wildlife movement without proving an animal lives inside. The inspection looks for the specific transition from slope or yard to a foundation, deck, garage, attic vent or roof edge.

Raccoons, skunks, opossums, rats, snakes and ground squirrels use different parts of that landscape. Raccoons can travel across roofs and sheltered structures; skunks and opossums are often relevant to ground-level voids; rats may use vegetation, rooflines and small openings; ground squirrels use burrows and daytime surface activity; and snakes may seek cover around walls, stored materials or vegetation. The service plan follows the confirmed species rather than applying one method to all of them.

Larger parcels also make access planning important. A problem may sit behind a gate, beyond a long driveway, on a steep side slope or beneath an outbuilding rather than the main home. Send a map pin or describe the part of the property if the street address alone does not show the route. Arman confirms which accessible structure or zone is included before the inspection begins.

The same service extends into Sunland. Sunland and Tujunga share foothill exposure but individual streets, lot sizes and construction differ, so neither is treated as a generic wilderness property. Both are served from the same nearby business location, and any travel charge is confirmed before dispatch.

How we work

Separate outdoor activity from structural entry before choosing the method.

A foothill property may contain normal wildlife travel as well as one active building problem. Arman defines the relevant area, identifies the species when evidence allows and explains the approved scope.

01

Inspect the reported zone

Most listed wildlife inspections are free. Snake and dead-animal inspections cost $175. Arman checks accessible evidence around the actual slope, yard, attic, crawl space, deck or outbuilding and states any access limit.

02

Select species-specific removal

The method may involve trapping or a one-way door, depending on the animal and structure. Raccoon options use the confirmed prices below. Ground squirrels are handled with humane live traps.

03

Confirm clearance before repair

Brave Guys checks for dependent young and does not seal an occupied space. After removal, accessible entry points or burrow openings at the structure can be quoted according to the species and construction.

04

Complete exclusion or cleanup

Approved repairs and cleanup are separate from basic removal. Ask which specific entry points repaired by Brave Guys qualify for the one-year exclusion-repair warranty, and see the warranty page for what it does not cover.

Before a foothill visit

Identify the right part of a larger property without approaching the animal.

Text the Tujunga or Sunland address and describe where the activity is relative to the main home: uphill boundary, lower yard, detached building, pool area, crawl-space side or roof. If the driveway branches or the problem is far from the street, provide gate and route instructions. Say whether the animal is seen above ground, heard inside, or only indicated by odor or damage.

Use photos only from a safe distance. Do not step near a snake, reach into a burrow, look beneath a low deck, climb a roof or walk an unstable slope to improve the image. Keep pets away from the active location and avoid moving stored material that may provide cover. For an active snake, maintain distance and text the current location without trying to contain it.

Make accessible gates, attic hatches, crawl-space doors and outbuilding entries available at the agreed time. Tell Arman about livestock or pets, locked internal fences, washed-out paths, loose rock, low clearance or tenant-controlled structures. A large parcel is not represented as fully inspected when the approved call concerns one accessible structure or defined zone.

Confirmed pricing

Free wildlife inspections have two clearly stated exceptions.

Raccoon, skunk, opossum, rodent, gopher, ground-squirrel and similar wildlife inspections are free. Snake inspections are $175, and dead-animal source-finding inspections are $175. A travel charge may apply to a farther address, but it is confirmed before dispatch. Removal, exclusion, cleanup and extra equipment outside a fixed amount are quoted for the property first.

Raccoon trapping uses a $200 setup covering one trap for up to two weeks, plus $150 per animal caught. One animal is $350 total and two are $500; capture is not guaranteed. Where a verified opening and family situation support it, a one-way door is $450 flat regardless of the number of animals inside. Repairs remain separate.

Dead-animal body removal is approximately $100–$300 in addition to its $175 inspection, based on access, location and condition. Pickup can be from an attic, crawl space, accessible wall, yard, pool, patio or another reachable private-property location. Free local disinfection of the immediate spot is included after removal.

Licensed in California

Foothill service is backed by named company and technician credentials.

Brave Guys Inc. holds California Structural Pest Control Board registration PR 10209, Branch 2. Arman Nazarian is the owner and field technician and holds SPCB Operator license OPR 15111. Tujunga and Sunland are service areas reached from the sole company address at 633 N Central Ave, Glendale, CA 91203.

Arman's California Department of Fish and Wildlife trapping license is TP-11016. These credentials identify who is responsible for the inspection and field work; they do not remove the need to identify the actual species or define an accessible scope on a large or sloped property.

Who handles the call?

Public-road wildlife and an animal inside a foothill home are handled differently.

City or county animal control generally handles dead or injured animals on public streets. Wildlife using a private attic, crawl space, deck, outbuilding, yard or wall opening is usually addressed by a licensed private company with property access. Brave Guys handles that private structural and yard scope in Tujunga and Sunland.

For an animal on a public roadway or public land, contact the relevant agency. For a private address, text the exact location, species if known and whether the animal is inside, beneath or outside the structure. Brave Guys does not speak for a government agency or promise its response.

Local questions

Answers before you schedule.

These answers describe the scope on this page. Arman confirms access, method and price for the actual property before work begins.

How much is wildlife removal in Tujunga?

Most wildlife inspections are free; snakes and dead animals are the $175 exceptions. Raccoon trapping is $200 setup plus $150 per animal caught, or $450 for a suitable one-way door. Dead-animal removal is approximately $100–$300 plus its inspection. Other work is quoted before approval.

Can you inspect a large foothill lot or detached building?

Yes, for the accessible structure or defined property zone you approve. Send gate, driveway and map-pin details when the problem is away from the street. Unsafe slopes, sealed cavities and areas outside the agreed scope are not described as inspected.

What should I do if I see a snake near the house?

Keep your distance, keep people and pets away, and do not try to catch or move it. If it can be done safely, note the current location and send a photo. Snake inspection is $175, and Arman confirms field availability after receiving the address.

Do young raccoons or skunks change the removal plan?

Yes. Dependent young must be considered before an occupied attic, crawl space, deck void or den opening is closed. Tell Arman about small vocal sounds or repeated adult trips. Brave Guys does not seal a confirmed occupied space.

Can you tell a ground squirrel from a gopher?

The inspection looks at surface activity and burrow evidence. California ground squirrels are active above ground during the day, while gophers remain mostly underground and commonly leave crescent-shaped mounds. The confirmed animal determines the service plan.

Do you seal entry points after wildlife is removed?

Yes, accessible openings can be quoted after clearance. Ground-squirrel openings at the structure may use metal mesh and cement after all squirrels in the approved problem are caught. Ask which repairs qualify for the one-year exclusion-repair warranty.

Do you serve Sunland as well as Tujunga?

Yes. Both foothill communities are in the service area. Text the exact address and access details to confirm coverage, the relevant property zone and any travel charge before dispatch.

Can I call after normal business hours?

Contact hours are 8 AM to midnight every day in Los Angeles time. Those are phone and text hours, not a guarantee of an immediate night visit. Arman confirms the available field window for the situation.

What licenses does Arman hold?

Brave Guys Inc. has SPCB company registration PR 10209, Branch 2. Arman Nazarian holds SPCB Operator license OPR 15111 and CDFW trapping license TP-11016.

Does the warranty mean wildlife cannot return to my yard?

No. The one-year exclusion-repair warranty applies only to specific qualifying entry points repaired by Brave Guys. It is not a promise that wildlife will never cross an open yard, use a new opening or appear elsewhere on a larger property.
